Equipment

  • 2 Ramekins (or a muffin tin)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup dog-safe frosting*
  • 2 liquid cat treats**

Instructions

  • In a bowl, stir together the baby food, wet cat food, pumpkin purée, egg yolk, flour, and baking soda until smooth and well combined.
  • For a lighter, fluffier texture, whip the egg white separately using a whisk or milk frother until soft peaks form. Without the egg, your cake will be denser.
  • Gently fold the whipped egg white into your mixture.
  • Lightly coat your ramekins with coconut oil. It’s a safe, cat-friendly option that adds a little flavor and helps prevent sticking.
  • Pour the batter into the ramekins and bake at 350°F for 20 to 23 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool before adding any icing. For best results, pop them in the fridge while you prep the decorations.
  • Once cooled, stack and decorate the cakes with cat-safe toppings like a small amount of icing, soft treats, or pet-safe sprinkles.
